Lance Stott’s 1930 Dodge Brothers Coupe
This is a 1930 Dodge Brothers Coupe that Lance is restoring, This car Pop bought in ’55 and almost became a race car but because the wood spoke wheels, wood floor and wood roof frame it was deemed unsafe, so the corner of the garage became it’s home until 2000 when Lance aquired it and did a frame up restoration. Dubbed “Barney” the ’30 has been a family affair. Mom and Pop, Corrie, Lance and Steph (Lance’s wife) and some others have all taken part in the “rebuild” of what has turned out to be a pretty nice piece.

Hunter Richards First WIN – Concord Motorsports Park 8-21-2010

Hunter Richards celebrates his first win at Concord motor sports park
Weekend of First produces just that the 1st win for Hunter Richards.
The first visit to Concord Motorsports Park’s ¼ Mile Asphalt Oval located just outside of Concord, North Carolina for Hunter Richards produces just that his First Bandolero Feature WIN!!!
Hunter Richards made his debut at Concord Motorsports Park and was not sure what to expect, it was going to be a weekend of firsts for him. It was going to be the first time he raced his car without a restrictor plate, it would be the first time he ever has turned a lap on the track, and it was the first time he won a race in his Bandolero.
On Friday 8/20/2010 Hunter climbed in his race car having no idea of what to expect except that he knew the car was going to be a lot faster than he has ever driven it before, as he pulled out on the track for the first practice session. It was fast and Hunter took to it like a bird takes to water, Hunter found the groove right away and just kept working it until he felt pretty good about it. On Friday night he ran well and finished 2nd in both his Heat Race and Feature which was talked about as downright amazing for him never racing here before. Well on Saturday when we got back to the track everyone was talking like it was just luck that got him his pair of 2nd’s on Friday night so no one was expecting what they saw. Hunter came out and picked up right where he left off on Friday by once again finishing 2nd in his heat race. Well he started outside pole for the feature and when the green flag dropped Hunter got a bad start and dropped back to third. Hunter was racing hard and little by little got back to second and then there was a caution for the car leading the race spun out and that put Hunter back to third for the restart. This time when they dropped the green to restart the race Hunter got a decent restart and held his own, as the laps clicked away so did Hunter and when the Checkered Flag flew as they went under it Hunter had a car length lead and won his first race in a Bandolero. It was funny as the cars were leaving the track and Hunter was going to Victory Circle you could hear him screaming and shouting over the engine noise I WON I WON. In victory Circle after thanking all his sponsors they asked him how he liked the track here at Concord and Hunter told them it was his new Favorite Race Track LOL. We will see if he thinks the same after next weekend’s race at Concord, we hope to see you all at the race next weekend to cheer Hunter on to another win.
